Junior Week 7 Update

9 Jun 2022

We have reached the point where teams move into performance divisions for each of our u11s, 13s and 15s.

The U13s and U11s both had their final league games in the original regionalised groups earlier this week, and both had very convincing victories.

On Sunday, the U13s defeated Brooksbottom by 102 runs. Adam Smith, Hasan Ali Ahmed and Muhammad Aon all retired with 30 runs in Bury's 142-3. In the second innings, there were two wickets apiece for Chris Jones, Ali Mohammad and James McCormack with Brooksbottom restricted to 40 all out. Our U13s finished 4th in the initial regional group and will begin their games in West Division 2 on Sunday, at home to Winton.

The U11s were winners by a similar margin on Wednesday, beating Tottington St Johns by 98 runs. 8 wickets were taken, shared amongst 6 bowlers, with the away side ending on 185, before Harry Wolstenholme top scored with 27 runs in Bury's 283. That means our U11s have topped the regional group, remaining unbeaten, and will start their fixtures in West Division 1 next week.

The U15s played a friendly against Roe Green on Monday with a week off in the new performance league fixtures. Tayab Shahbaz top scored with a 29 in a 50 run defeat. They return to league action next Monday at home to Heywood.

Junior Star Performer of the week: Harry Wolstenholme (U11s) for his 27 runs from 18 balls
