Junior Week 5 Update

26 May 2022

It's been another very busy week for our 4 junior teams, with the weather not impacting any of this week's games.

The U9s played 2 fixtures at Woodbank on Monday, with competitive games enjoyed against Tottington St Johns and Brooksbottom.
The U11s extended their 100% record in the league to a fourth game with a 50 run victory at Woodbank. 5 batsmen made it to double figures with just 2 wickets lost in Bury's net score of 282, before 6 wickets for the bowlers helped restrict Woodbank to 232.
The U13s had a double header this week, starting with a narrow defeat to Walshaw in the league on Sunday, before Edgworth were the winners at Radcliffe Road in the LCB KO qualifiers on Wednesday. Muhammad Aon retired on 35 in the latter, as well as taking 2 of the 3 wickets in one over.
Finally, the U15s fell just short of their target despite a late fightback in their game at home to Middleton. The visitors scored 139-3 from their 20 overs. Adam Smith's quick retirement (40* from 29 balls) pushed Bury's score quickly upwards in the second half of the innings, but ultimately they fell 18 short.

Junior Star Performer of the Week: Muhammad Aon (U13s) for his 35* runs and 2 wickets v Edgworth
