Josh Smith-Webb

On Friday 30th July, Bury Cricket Club entered a team into the Josh Smith-Webb Charity Golf Day at the scenic and impressive High Peak New Mills Golf Club.

Josh sadly passed away earlier this year and many at Bury CC hold fond memories of his time with us.

Josh was part of a very successful period for our juniors including winning the U15 LCB Regional Knockout Trophy, going onto represent Lancashire in the National Competition.

The Bury CC Golf team consisted of Josh's former team manager Paul Belston, teammate Jordan Belston, chairman Gary Garner and guest Jordan G. All 4 golfers representing Bury CC in this inaugral trophy event contributed good performances on the day - and Bury CC won the event with a score of 107. Jordan Belston spoke a few fitting words after accepting The Odd Socks Trophy in Josh's memory.

Whilst attending the day, former Bury CC player Liam Neill paid tribute by visiting the tree planted in Josh's memory which sits high above the beautiful views of the High Peak on Hole 16.

RIP Josh - you are missed from all at Bury CC.
