Bury Cricket Club
Bury Cricket Club was saddened to learn of the passing of Harry Lees aged 102.
Not many of our members will remember Harry but his name appears on the Honours Boards ( please look him up ).
Harry opened the batting mainly in the 2nds in the 50s, 60s and early 70s then became President before retiring to Scotland in 1980.
His wife Betty (also deceased) acted as Club treasurer and their son Andrew played for the 2nds in the 70s.
Harry still remembered his time at Bury even 40 years after leaving the area and was kind enough to provide a small bequest to the Club.
A humorous, gentleman cricketer.
