Club Statement 18/5/20

Club members will be aware of the statement released on Friday by the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) that outlined strict guidelines regarding the use of cricketing facilities (which includes both practice nets and the outfield) in response to the changes to the lockdown made by the UK government last week.

The committee has taken time to consider the guidelines and our ability, as a club, to safely implement such measures and have reluctantly come to the decision that the club's cricketing facilities (nets and outfield) will remain closed to all of its members at this time. This decision does not come easily and we appreciate that this may disappoint some members, but the committee was united in the belief that the safety of its members must and will come first. We will continue to review the situation going forward in these unprecedented times.

In line with the ECB guidelines, we will be actively closing off the net facilities, and we ask that all members respect this decision.

In the meantime, we advise everyone to keep safe by continuing to follow the government guidelines, and hope we see you all in the not too far distant future.

The Committee.
