Club Legend Bids Farewell to Bury

29 Mar 2021

Chris Potts has announced that he will be leaving the country permanently later this week.

'Pottsy' has called Bury CC his home club for a decade - in which time he has taken over 320 wickets and scored over 700 runs. He has captained the 2nd XI for a number of years in both the BDCA and the GMCL - achieving back-to-back promotions with the 2nd XI in the GMCL in 2017 and 2018. In 2019, he captained the 3rd XI to win the Sunday cup competition, and has played a significant number of 1st team and T20 games for the club.

But everyone who knows Chris knows that his contribution to our club and local cricket goes much further than just his on-field achievements. Chris is a very popular man both within the club and amongst the hundreds of players he has come up against - whether that be for his magnificent sense of humour or for his famous Braai - and he will certainly leave some big shoes to fill at Radcliffe Road.

Everyone at the club would like to thank Chris for his huge contributions to our club both on and off the field, and wish him all of the best for the future.
