2022 Senior Season Info

All of our senior league fixtures are now available for the 2022 season.

The 1st XI begin the season away to Shaw CC on April 23rd - this will be the first meeting between the two clubs' first elevens in the GMCL after Shaw were promoted to Premier 2 last season. The 2nd XI, who have moved upto Division 3W after their title winning season in 2021, will begin their campaign at home to Bolton Indians 1st XI on the same date.

The first home game for the 1st XI, who finished 4th in Premier 2 in 2021, will be on the following week against Bradshaw, with other stand out fixtures including games with Flixton (14th May & 30 July), Greenfield (4 June & 20 August) and a first GMCL visit to Heaton (11 June). They will finish the season away to Glodwick on September 17th.

The 2nd XI have a regionalised division with more local games than compared with 2021, with opposition including Walshaw, Edgworth, Stand, Elton and Unsworth.

The 3rd XI will compete in Sunday Division 1, with opposition including Monton, Roe Green, Daisy Hill and Glodwick. Their season begins at home to Monton on April 24th.

We will also arrange 4th team friendlies for weeks where availability allows.

The T20 fixtures for the Bury Bullsharks, along with the cup draws for each of our senior sides, are expected in the near future.

All of our fixtures and cup dates can be viewed via the club calendar page, and via Team App (all members are now encouraged to re-install the app for the 2022 season).

In more general league news, the GMCL has decided, after the responses from players and clubs, that providing teas will not be a league requirement in 2022.

Additionally, there have been some slight changes to start times for the 2022 season. For all Saturday fixtures up to and including the last day in August, fixtures will commence at 12.30pm and for all fixtures in September they will commence at 12 noon. All Sunday league fixtures will commence at 2pm and all Cup games will commence at 1.00pm - both of these are unchanged.

Finally, a reminder that senior indoor training begins next Monday 21st February, 9-10pm at Derby High School. Junior training continues between 6-8pm at the same location on Tuesday evenings.
